Clark Fork and Stanislaus River Geocaching
Geocaching Adventure #20

Back to main geocache page
We had a T-O-N of snow this winter and we knew that the rivers would be engorged so we traveled up the 108 to check them out and to find a few geocaches along the way. We had never seen this much water in any of the rivers, it was out of control. We've always had a very healthy respect of nature and how powerful she is, but watching these rivers rage as wildly as they were certainly reinforced our respect for her.

Surprisingly after all these years, Jimmy and I never ventured to the Clark Fork river so today was the day. We picked a grand day to do it, too! The rivers were raging out of control.

Absolutely amazing!! The river was roaring thanks to the very snowy winter. We explored this area for about an hour, enjoying the views on both sides of the bridge. I'd certainly heed the warning above! We probably took some chances that we shouldn't have. Thanks for bringing us to an area we may not have ever explored. Took 20c euro coin, left zebra, SL.

ugh. We didn't find this one and all other posts accounted it as an easy find so it was a little disappointing. But! Our disappointment didn't linger long at all because once again, the views were phenomenal. The bridge was over the Stanislaus River and it was so wild we could barely hear ourselves talk when we were closer to it. There's a really nice viewing platform next to the old bridge that is completely obscured from the main highway.

We couldn't find it either. Searched for about 20 minutes. The river was raging though and was definitely worth the stop for the view alone.
