Admittedly, I am a fah-reek...I LOVED this store, though. The colors, the textures, whew! Overwhelming! The volume of trimmings they had was amazing.

...if only they had yarn, too. They have a bead store but I missed it, darn!

I took more pictures, had to limit it to 3 though...sigh.

Finally! Pictures of people!! Lots and lots of people. This was pretty cool, I happened to be walking by Bryant Park during lunch and there was a free concert. Interesting geek note: Bryant Park offers free wireless connection! Pretty cool, eh? Jimmy and Eric took advantage of it on Wednesday afternoon.

Little reminders...

actually, it's the W R Grace Building

at Concourse at Rockefeller Center

This is where the city puts up the famous Christmas Tree and where the ice skating rink is during the winter months.

The 12:30 Mass was going on, so I only took 1 picture before I was told to not take photos during Mass. I'll be back, our hotel is only a few blocks away.

The View from Essex

Jimmy and Eric were working on the 37th floor and they had a great view of east Midtown. After lunch, they invited me up to enjoy the views.

While I was up there, they pointed out to me that most of the high rises have their own water tower to supply water to the occupants of that building. That surprised me since I'm used to 1 water tower per city! Those 'boxes' on top of all of the buildings are the water towers.

A view of East Midtown, Roosevelt Island, East River, Queens, and my reflection, hehe.

After dinner at Mee Noodles, Eric and I headed to the Village while Jimmy worked. We checked out NYU, where Elizabeth will be attending this fall! I was very excited to see her new neighborhood, as well as check out hip and funky Greenwich Village. We walked though Washington Square Park and they were showing Ghostbusters on a big screen and everyone was just sitting on the lawn watching the movie. It was very cool! We walked to Bleeker Street and got cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery.

On Sunday, I went back to Greenwich Village to steel a photo since I couldn't capture one on the night Eric and I were here. Look at that line, it goes around the corner! Typical for a Saturday afternoon. Actually, it was around the corner when Eric and I were here Thursday night at 10:50 pm. I wasn't about the stand in that line twice, despite the deliciousness of the cakes.

Because of their popularity, customers are limited to a dozen cupcakes.

These are not your ordinary cupcakes.

Our NYC Accommodations, the Metropolitan Hotel on Lexington Ave. and 50th. This was the 1st time I've stayed overnight in NYC. Jimmy, on the other hand, has spent too many nights in NYC, IHHO. The only misfortune was that the hotel was still under renovations. Luckily, we got an updated room (originally Jimmy didn't, but switched after a little bit of dialogue with the front desk).

Jimmy mentioned that we were lucky that we actually had a window that had an alleyway between us and the next building - ie, a view. Most of the other hotels he stays at have windows that are inches away from a brick wall.

btw, it was constantly noisy...the street noises, I should say.
