The Capitol Building

March 22, 2005
Leaving the hotel at 7:30, we maneuvered the Metro, changing lines and ending at the Capitol South stop. The morning was crisp and clear as we walked the block and a half to the Capitol building. Waiting for our tour, we chatted with a woman from Mission Viejo. On our way in, we were reminded that no food or beverages would be allowed. You should have seen the amount of food people had to throw away. Many discouraged parents who 'stocked up' for a long day with several children in tow. We had to wonder why they had so much food because we were told in advance that no food or beverages would be allowed. Anyhoo, the tour was amazing, creating more thirst for more information when we got home. I've spent several more hours reading about the Capitol Building.

After the tour, Jimmy and Eric had to head to Virginia for a couple of meetings.
